It
was a great day for the first game of the season, although a little
tasking on travel with the Wolverhampton Marathon making driving to
the Lucas pitch a chore. Our home pitch wasn't ready for play so the
Lucas spare pitch was our stand in. After a slow start Firs started
to get the better of the play taking charge by half time with a brace
of goals from Calvin McHale and Bryn Jones, with one from Mick McGinn.
When half time came Firs held a commanding lead with five goals to
nil, and went out for the second half with great confidence.
This was well placed confidence and the second half was pure one-way
traffic. Calvin McHale adding another two to make it four, Bryn Jones
also gaining a hat trick. Unfortunately for them Merry Hill conceded
a penalty which was dispatched by Gary Dunseath, Darren Evans added
another before the substitutes started to open their account. Lee
Bradburn netting to bring the total score to 12-0. It was a great
start to the season with such a convincing win. |
