Well
Firs fans we keep our unbeaten run to three in a row. This week we
were hosts to the Hatherton Arms F.C. The game was a hard fought game
not without some harrowing moments, where tempers got a bit frayed.
The game was only 5 minutes old when, you've guessed, yes, Calvin
McHale put Firs in the lead. This lead was short lived as the Hatherton
Arms equalised within side of one minute with a high lob, which eluded
the goalkeeper. As stated the game was a niggly affair with not much
football being played, the second goal coming from Lee Bradburn through
a great toe-bunt shot. With half time not more than five minutes away
the teams were level again, but thanks to an own goal by Chris Tunstall
on the stroke of half time the Firs were ahead again 3-2.
The second half started with the Hatherton scoring almost from the
kick off, but a good man can't be kept down and Calvin McHale put
Firs back in front. At last Firs seemed to get the game under control
and at times showed the flair from the previous two games. Then came
a scorcher of 30 yards from Darren Evans to give Firs a two-goal cushion.
Again within a minute Hatherton pulled one back, but there was to
be no last minute revival for them as Firs finished worthy winners
5-4. |
