When Banks's put out this slogan they definately had the Firs in mind. One visit to the Lounge will prove the dedication that licensee Michael Williams puts into his house, with awards for Best Kept Cellar, Master Beer Keeper and other certificates decorating the walls. Believe me this is no small claim, in the Firs gone is the image of a dark damp cellar, the work that goes into keeping a cellar to achieve these awards doesn't just show on the walls but also in the taste of the beer. Combine with this a regularly changing food menu supported by Blackboard Specials, sporting excellent quality and value for money, the quality of its products shows through.

This would all be wasted if it was not for the staff, a combination of a properly served pint and a cheerful bubbly mix of personalities put the finishing touches to the enjoyment of a visit.
